Research on RDE performance for in-use vehicles especially at high altitude conditions in China

The real driving emissions (RDE) of an in-use gasoline in use diesel light-duty (LD) vehicle , both are SUV type, studied based on portable emission measurement system (PEMS). complying with standard China 6 a mileage about 50000 km, and the this study is 5 130000 km for there hardly any vehicles major city. Special attentions paid their behaviors at high altitude conditions (1300 to 3000 m above sea level). It observed that RDE test approach still feasible revealing extremely altitudes (>1300 m, which beyond upper limit extended according Euro regulation). results reveals vehicle, efficient three way catalyst (TWC) capable handling NOx, CO sufficiently, accompany port fuel injection guarantees (NOx, PN, CO) fulfill standards (which 35 mg/km, 6E11 #/km 500 mg/km respectively). And EGR as only NOx control means not sufficient brings emission, maximum value exceeds 3.7 23.2 times limits, but other hand, PN 1% usage DPF.
